Yet another hospital – Dar Bjorn

Love…

This is where I learnt what true love was.

After 9 months at my dad’s, I finally made it into Dar Bjorn, the place ideated by my colleague Bjorn at Casino di Venezia, who had ALS.

There were a few teething problems (as to be expected) but he and his wife Maria had fundraised tirelessly and made the place impeccable.

It may sound corny, but the amount of love in this community blew me away.  Parents and grandparents came every single day to see their loved ones with degenerative diseases, everyone knew each other’s story cuz it was such a close knit community.

People with ALS helped me overcome my fears (or were on better meds than me) and everyone was so caring and supportive.

My friend Ann and many other blogs, podcasts, audio books all harped on about love being the most healing thing and I just couldn’t get my head round it til now…
